This East African Standard specifies the requirements, sampling and test methods for commercial varieties of pineapple grown from Ananascomosus (L.) Merr.of the Bromeliaceae family, to be supplied fresh to the consumer. This standard does not apply to pineapple for ornamental or industrial processing
