Scope
This East African Standard specifies requirements and sampling methods for commercial varieties of papaya (pawpaw) grown from Carica papaya L., of the Caricaceae family, to be supplied fresh to the consumer. This standard does not apply to papaya for industrial processing. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition, EAS 47:2000, Fresh papaya — Specification, which is hereby withdrawn.
