Scope

This East African Standard specifies requirements and sampling methods for edible mushrooms, the carpophores (fruiting bodies) of strains grown from the genus Agaricus (syn. Psalliota) to be supplied fresh to the consumer. This standard does not apply to mushrooms for industrial processing. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition, EAS 56:2000, Fresh mushrooms — Specification, which is hereby withdrawn.
